This Atheist Life

A new Gallup poll says that religion is losing it’s influence in American life.

Sixty-seven percent of Americans think religious influence is waning while just 27% say it is increasing. That perspective demonstrates a continuing downward trend, Gallup said.

Let’s hope the trend continues. Of course, most of these people probably see it as a bad thing. I think it’s pretty plain that a secular government is the best for everyone, religious or not. It will throw the Christian Sociopaths into a tizzy, but what doesn’t?

The latest poll also finds that the percentage of Americans believing that religion “can answer all or most of today’s problems” has reached an all-time low. Slightly more than half of those surveyed β€” 53% β€” held that view, while 28% say it is “largely old-fashioned and out of date.”

Yeah, I’ll say. A couple thousand years out of date. Religion may have repressed scientific understanding for a couple of millennia, but it can’t lie anymore. Even most religious leaders know that the claims of their faith are illogical. Most just fear the reaction of their congregation, though I’ve seen many pastors slowing teaching their flock how to be skeptical. Here’s to a secular future.

    A new Gallup poll says that religion is losing it’s [sic] influence in American life.
    The Bible pinpoints the “Christian” religion in James 1:27 If any will say that that “Religion” in James 1;27 is losing its influence in American life, then it is really fulfilled what Paul’s prophecy tells Timothy:
    This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

    2Ti 3:2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

    2Ti 3:3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

    2Ti 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

    2Ti 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

    2Ti 3:6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,

    2Ti 3:7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

  2. Incontinent! So it’s going to be a bunch of senior citizens that do all this!? πŸ™‚
