06/07/2010: Sulis

Sulis is the ancient Celtic mother goddess. She was worshiped at the thermal spring in Bath.Tablets with curses written on them were written out to her and then buried in the ground.

The Romans that occupied Britain adopted her worship, recognizer her as an incarnation of Minerva. The nearby Solsbury Hill was named in her honor.
